Ever since I started playing this game in the early nineties, it has been on my list of favorite games ever. NetHack is the definitive dungeon hack game! The random level generator ensures a different adventure every time. From the variety of character classes to the many numerous monsters and how they react to you, this game oozes complexity. In addition, there are so many ways to die. Often times a character's demise can be quite humorous. In fact I've never beaten in all this time. But it keeps me interested and hoping for even a glimpse of the Amulet of Yendor. At first glance, admittedly this game could turn off many. The graphics are quite old, but do the job. There is no sound, but the taps from your keyboard. They seem oddly like footsteps in a dungeon. And you can always play your own music along with it. Give it a chance and you will be rewarded handsomely!
