Better than you think . . .

User Rating: 7.9 | Mario Open Golf NES
Golf in its earlier forms was a little crude. You didn't get the feel for the environment of the courses. The clubs felt a little more preprogrammed for their effectiveness, so it became more of a game of strategy of club selection rather than including some skill with aim and swing. This golf game was a little bit better.

Watch Mario as he walks out on the course. This is an improvement over the previous Golf title. You have your selection of clubs and you can aim, but the game does a great job at failing you if you don't aim properly at a hole and providing more depth to the greens. The wind plays a big factor too. Maybe a little more than it should, but it was good for Nintendo's second attempt.

NES Open provides a good feel for the sport of golf and provides players with a chance to learn the game and have some fun with it.
