Here we have NeoGeo Battle Coliseum, another fighter title from SNK Playmore to hit the PS2. Originally an arcade title, this game feels almost identical to it's arcade predecessor but I dont know if that's a good thing at all. First let's start with the controls, as most of you have already noticed there is no analog stick control, just your old fashioned D-pad (which can give you sore thumbs on long gameplay sessions). Another negative thing about this game is it's difficulty; from it's frustrating fights where alot of the time your outnumbered 6 to 2; to losing the fight if any of your fighters gets knocked out. While the Tag Play mode does make up for the difficulty of the Arcade Mode (Story Mode), it really doesnt do much for the game other than prolong the gameplay. Graphically, it's what you would expect from an SNK title but by today's standards it's just another outdated 2D game with generic 3D backgrounds. Overall, it's hard to recommend this game to anyone, wether it's to purchase it or to even rent it.
