Neo Geo Battle Coliseum sounds like a dream come true for SNK fans, unfortunately it fails to deliver.
The gameplay itself is what put me off this game the most, beside mixing up old move inputs with newer ones ( for example Ryo has two shrinking gale kicks one like his art of fighting self and one like his Kof self) which I find confusing and useless, the most annoying thing though has to be the fact that the evasive move to avoid attacks ( like the roll in Kof) depletes the super gauge by a third, and if you perform the "just guard", which is even more useless, takes away half of a third of the gauge, that's like punishing players that have a good defense and makes it really hard and annoying to play against a character like Mizuchi/Orochi that has projectiles that need you to avoid them as they take a crap load of health off you, even if you just block it.
The survival mode might be the only interesting thing in the all package, even though it can be a bit too easy to clear as after 21 fights you would have unlocked all the secret characters and all the artwork, so you are left with no real reason to play it any longer.
To summarize this game feels like is half baked and while the Idea of it is good and could have worked really well, looks like it has been rushed and conceived without much of a concept behind it, it has potentials that haven't really been developed so we can only hope for a sequel to right the wrongs in this game.
