- "Waste of time"
I own Most Wanted and 100% finished.
It is horrible to play a newer game but the gameplay was much worse than the previous title.
Ugly 3D environment. The game try to bring us a metropolis, however they looks likes a rectangular box and from 1990s canned 3D models. EA clever to make money. Using the same engine and graphic but a new map may attract die-hard fans but it is boring to normal player. Any studio could made 10 titles a year if only using canned 3D models and generate "new" map.
Car model. They looks likes old game and the cop car were uglier. Seems they were belongs to 1990s era but not a 2008 game. Evern Most Wanted is better.
Old Sound. The police spoke the exact words in "Most Wanted". Good job Black Box.
Gameplay. New mode sounds good. Car delivery is challenging as NFS racer seldom care the damage. Highway battle was a modified drag mode. Just use the slow motion and bring the fastest car to the event. Outrun is a modified version of cops chasing. The difference is you was chased by NPC racer and you had to make him difficult to follow you.
Chasedown is the greatest mode ever. In multiplayer NFS-er were good at take down opponent to slow them down. Now you can challenged you skills to take down NPC.
Stoytelling. NFS-er do not care the story. Most Wanted is easy, You lose the battle and lose your car. The big boss did not accept your challenge , you had to beat other to prove your are the strongest challenger.
But in Undercover, Maggie Q is a eyecandy but i can't get the story. The in-game true-people scene were rubbish, it does not help people to understand the story. Back Box, please watch more film and the scene should be the mafia hug you when you finished the job. And through the progress, there should be some progress in the story. If you can't make a good story, please don't add a story, likes the simply storyline in Moist Wanted.
The game had a few people to play and only cost US$9.9 in steam. And on 4 May 2011 the special price was US$2.5. Despite low cost, seems only a few people would likes to spend on it.

I own steam version and EA did not patch it. MyNFS down and it just 2 year old.
I self-patch it with gamer self-made fix.
It do had some good thing. The track in the middle of the game , the open world/ rural tract was never seen in Most Wanted and Carbon, they were great.
After patched it to v.18 the closed caption back and the story had some sense in middle of the game, but i still think either no real story (Most Wanted) better than a worse storyline. I want no story or a movie like, coherent one.
I don't know i was the problem of the gamer self-made patch or something else. The game born in 2009 but had a terrible consumption on CPU after i patched it to v.18 and it was fine in v.17 but i suggested if you want a full experience, a computer with Core i5 and main stream 3d display card in 2011 could had the full graphic , non-laggy (due to laggy in CPU calculation ) experience.

Second Edit
It took me about 18 hours to finish the story and a day to dominate all the event (a level above 100% finish/event 100% won). It gave me all the player skills to make my cars preformed its true 100%. I had to say the AI is crazy and they easily take you down. Sometimes they drive too fast and fly. Because they cross the corner very easily, they had a competitive speed. However they may stuck with U-turn in some track, seem they did not de-bug well or not every track+car was debugged. Despite it had 100+ event, some of them look the same (downhill /uphill) as too many event on the same map.
Yet i had to finish the challenge mode.

I can see why Black Box lost their studio after the release of this game...
