Yet another reason NFS needs to just go away.

User Rating: 3 | Need for Speed: Shift PS3
In a nutshell, Shift does for ProStreet what Undercover did for Most Wanted (and Carbon for that matter). controls are dodgy, grip is non existent, "assist" help you go sideways when you don't want to, menus are unappealing, and the entire experience is completely unimmersive. even controls to tweak your setups are dodgy as you only have to bump the control to move the slider for it to go clear across the room. on top of all that, if you have assist on, the car will auto-pilot toward the best line.

And then there's the rating system. How many times do we have to go through this, until someone finally creates AI opponents that are well aware of where you are, and AI that can tell who's at fault for incidentson the track, there can be no just and fair rating system. End of discussion. For EA, I blame this on NASCAR 2005, for the industry, I'll say the Project Gotham series off the top of my head, starting with Metropolis Street Racing.

Note to EA: No, not all people like racing games, but the ones that do only like games they can immerse themselves in. That's why NFS: Most Wanted sold so well.

So yet another poor attempt by EA, and it's lucky to get that. Now back to a better game.
