The Absolute Worst Console Port in History

User Rating: 1 | Need for Speed: Rivals PC

This game is without a doubt the worst console port I have ever played in my life! I just recently bought this game and it is unplayable. What do I mean? I have a core i7-3770, 10 gig ram, and a radeon 7970. I am able to play every game on the market with all setttings maxed out at 1080p including Battlefield 4 and Crysis 3. After installing this game, I started the game but all I get is a black screen with stuttering sound. The game will only play in windows mode for AMD gpus. This was one of the games where the developers were supposed to have worked closely with AMD and even use mantle. All marketing lies!

So anyways, I tried to just play the game in windows mode, but now the game only accepts xbox360 controller. The game does NOT support any input device other than an xbox360 gamepad. Luckily, I have a Logitech F510 controller which has a switch at the bottom to make your pc thinks it is an xbox360 gamepad. So I restart the game again and have to listen to that annoying stupid intro that lasts almost 5 minutes and which you can't skip. Now I go into the menu system and try to remap the buttons. Guess what? Not only does the game forces you to use an xbox360 gamepad, but you can not remap any of the buttons either. If you're used to playing racing games in a certain way then be prepared to relearn how to play it the way they want you to play it or play it with a keyboard, which is incredibly frustrating.

Now when you play the game, the frame rate is capped at 30 fps which makes absolutely no sense for a racing game. The idiot developers say it's due to synchronizing the online to everyone but it's basically due to hardware limitations on the consoles and they were too lazy to fix it for the pc. Also, under the graphics options there is no option for anti-aliasing, anistrophic filtering, or tessellation.

There is nothing redeeming about this game. Anyone who gives it more than 1 star is a liar or a paid hack of EA or Ghost. I have many EA games and have had few to no problems with them. I also have bought all the previous Need for Speed games and have little complaint. This game is an abomination to pc gaming and is obviously a direct port of the xbox360. The developers at Ghost are primarily to blame. I seriously hope someone sues them and puts them out of business. Do not EVER buy a game from Ghost!!! The good news is that I only paid $20 for this trash. The bad news is that it is probably worth $1. The game is so bad that it has been dropping in price daily on Amazon. By the end of the month it will probably be $10. This game is literally unplayable and unacceptable on the pc. This game deserves no stars!
