User Rating: 5.5 | Need for Speed: Nitro WII
The first thing that I would like to address is that the racing mode is rather fun when you first try it out. This got the game off to a good start for me. However, immediately after I 5-starred the circuit race on my first try, the only things left for me in Rio de Janeiro were some very badly made game modes that were the entire source of my frustration with the game.

Before we get into that, let's talk about the cars. They have some pretty well designed models that look very nice, but graphics don't make the game. Once you start the game, you get to pick from two (count that) TWO cars to start off your career. The only way to unlock better cars? Usually it's something among the lines of "get every single star in (city) in the (precious metal) cup". Oh wait, what about the cars unlocked by playing the Grand Prix? Oh wait, that requires 100 stars! And how are you going to get 100 stars with the crap cars you have to use at the start of the game?

The reason stars are so hard to get are some flat out cheap events. A good example for me is Time Attack. Oh sure, you get to try out a sweet car, but how am I supposed to get the best time for the maximum star score if they put cones out on the track that are ****ing impossible to avoid if you're using nitro which is the only ****ing way TO get the best score?!? How am I supposed to turn off nitro when going around corners since the nitro forces me into EVERY SINGLE CONE IN THE TURN?!? This could be fixed by giving me the option to turn off nitro, but it wasn't to be because I couldn't freaking find that option. Tapping the nitro button again (which is what you would think would turn off nitro) turns on super nitro which makes the problem even worse. Oh, I'm sorry EA for not possessing the reflexes and decision making skills of a freaking robot and not being in possession of some sort of hacking device to make every single one of those freaking cones disappear!

Drag racing? Meh. Drift mode? Nigh on impossible with the crap cars you start out with. The imaginative "own the city" mechanic and good graphics don't save this wreckage from being one of the freaking worst car related games I've ever seen.

Graphics: 9.0/10
One of the only good things about the game.
Sound: 8.9/10
One of the other only good things about the game with the music, engine roars and such.
Control: 7.0/10
Generally good, but the lack of an option to turn off nitro really screws with your ability to not crash your car into every sharp turn on the track.
Gameplay: 5.0/10
See above rant about time attack, inability to unlock any cars, and required reflexes and decision making skills of a robot.

Overall: 5.5/10

DON'T BUY IT.
