Carolyn Petit tries to shake off the law and dominate the streets of Fairhaven in this video review for Need for Speed: Most Wanted.
I know you died years ago, but I'll say it yet again, rest in peace need for speed. I was just visiting your grave
ok, well I suckered up and bought this game on black friday since it was only $25. Been playing it for the last 2 days, initially hated it cause its not like most wanted, but it eventually grew on me, cause I just forgot about it's name and started playing it like it's Burnout Paradise.
I guess if you can do that, you'll enjoy it, cause to be honest with you I really enjoyed Burnout Paradise. So I've just been treating this as the sequel that was renamed, and it's pretty decent.
Doesn't change the fact that I REALLY want to see a proper followup of the original Most Wanted tho.
@jollyjoel23 @PayneKiller That's a sequel. Wht I want is a remake. With better graphics and a storyline.
@jollyjoel23 @karan_sethi954 @PayneKiller I want a new NFS HighStakes from 1999.... That was the last REAL good original NFS...
@karan_sethi954 @PayneKiller So basically u just want an HD update? or do u want a whole new most wanted with a different storyline?
After playing this and seeing the review I'm pretty sure this was Criterion putting out a highly requested Burnout: Paradise police dlc, but in a creative way.
The first Most Wanted was probably the racing game that i played most. the online competition in wanted boards seems cool but find cars around is just ridiculous. will pass.
Absolutely loved the original. This is most wanted without its soul. No cheesy story which made this the best race game ever. The original was soooo good and this was crap. Criterion, stay away from NFS.
This games Sucks . I'm so happy i have game fly, even tho i have to pay extra for an online pass for multiplayer games. but it save me 60-65 dollars on waste less spending per game , graph was good , but this is suppose to be an arcade racing game? please , go pick up midnight club .Or better yet, get gta 4 , I'm no fan of burnout , ridge racer is arcade game with better content . need for speed shift is also an arcade game , need for speed games focus on making racing games for everyone(sad) ill be dame, no skill needed . One of the elite arcade racing games was Project Gotham Racing , that was on Xbox first system 2001 shit Sega Saturn started it all , oh food for thought why the fuck you need a steering wheel for an arcade racing when you have no cockpit view! this is y EA puts out shit games . 60 bucks lmao ,well if you bought this game and enjoyed it ,well another group ill stay away from!
lmfao... so I purchased this on amazon/best buy for $30, since it was half off so soon I said let me give this a 2nd look. Then I downloaded the demo, and then on Saturday went to EA's Soccer and Speed Tour to try my hands at the full game.
ORDER CANCELED! I already have Burnout Paradise and this is just mocking the Most Wanted name. It really does feel like I'm playing Burnout Paradise with licensed cars and cops. All the mechanics are the same: smash billboards, speed cams, smash gates, burnout to start races, and of course, smash your car up.
If you really want it, Amazon.com still has it for $30, but it ships in 1-3 weeks. Thankfully that gave me enough time to cancel the order since I'm not charged til it's shipped.
its okay i guess..but lots of the fun of the original nfs most wanted was the option to pimp/tune your car with rims/vinyls/paintjobs..etcetc so when you raced online everybodies car had their own look..i really miss that in all the newer nfs...
@dorianyates if this was called NFS:MW2 with a legit storyline, it would have been one of the best racers on the ps3
@dorianyates actually nah....srcap that.....nfs:carbon 2. technically nfs:carbon is the sequel to nfs:mw 2005
@jollyjoel23 If this game did not have the NFS MW name
.. It is definitely one of the best racers on PS3
@SIDEFX1 agreed. not gunna lie, there is stuff like need length between mw races, persuits could be a little more suspensefull but ya, this is one of the best game for ps3. I know its on x360, but it is better on here.

@Nikosnik123 @jollyjoel23 u dont have to be a little bitch here, k? This game was made by Criterion and so was HP2010. if u read some of the comments on here, some people are comparing this to Burnout Paradise, because it is made by the same people and this game seems kind of similar too it. It literally took me like 10 fucking minutes to firgure out what u were trying to say here. Ur grammar is fucking terrible.
All the flashes and brightly lit design, are just not up to it anymore, i admitted, playing on a smartphone does look kinda fun, but on a console without customization even to body kit, the game just don't felt like a Need For Speed........ Police chase seem thrill, but when they chase you and only you....... well the rest is history...... they even let my "rival" bypass them and dodge my rival in fear of colliding with them, they rather crashed themselves than slow my rival down(or just scripted them to keep them apart)...... they really hate me.
Racing with AI kinda fun initially, until you realized your faster rival car are actually made from titanium and weight like a tank and you can't throw it off track, they stick to the line of race and ram you off course if you are in the way...... jeeeze man, why this?
I played most wanted cause I loved seeing rival car gone off road and gleefully tell them you suck! Here, its just a lot of dodging and carefully not to ram your rival is the only to victory, cause you are racing with cars with weight of tanks and still stick close to you as close as you can imagine, and throw you off as far as the horizon can tell. i really suck now........ ToT
Most Wanted original, you play games, Most Wanted now, game play you.
Although the its a little to easy to get rewarded with new cars, that is what I like about it, penty of cars to drive, but all drive and no custom made ride makes me a sad racer, prefer Forza instead.....
This game is more Burnout Paradise than NFS. They're both EA anyway. But I don't really like Burnout Paradise especially since your cars seems to run soooooo fast even at their STOCK condition while they easily get trashed which results to mission failure a lot....then your annoying pursuers seems to have very tough cars..when your racing then police comes to trash you seems nice at first but if the're the ones who is always causing you to lose it becomes more annoying than entertaining.
@urayanya Burnout Revenge was the best, even a crashed car can get their revenge on rival, Paradise is more like an arcade racing with crashing and brightly lit engine, but not enough Burnout. i wish i could trashed my rival even though he crashed me......
I was blind cause everyone said this is the best Burnout game ever until I played my old dusty Burnout Revenge to realized something have gone off from there.
@urayanya Well, you don't want to buy it, borrow it, I borrowed mine from a race enthusiastic fan, he tell me this game is awesome, its god, its hell, its speedy, its fast, its fun, its better than Need For Speed Hot Pursuit, better than Dirt 2 and 3, better than Froza, and definitely better than Burnout.
I played it, look around, and felt weird...... is he really meant it, cause he look so convinced that this game was the as described above, a godlike game..... and I thought that too until I played it.................
bought the game this past friday and now its sunday and im #4 on the mw list. but this is a FANTASTIC game. I love how u just run through a paint shop and ur all repaired, i love how it throws u in the game already racing at ridiculous speeds, not having to wait to unlock fast cars, because they are already there, u just have to find them. Crashes and pursuits are really suspenseful and look beautiful, not to mention an amazing soundtrack with a variety of rock, hiphop and electronica. landscape of the city looks stunning, with excellent free roam and all around game visuals and graphics, with loads of track variety for races. gameplay time could be a LITTLE more extended between most wanted races(maybe requiring more speed points for example) but all around a great game with easy controls and easydrive. Online is awesome too, smashing through billboards and going on ramps(in career mode too) against ur friends, with speed camera stats and billboard display. dosen't have a legit story and not better than the original but FANTASTIC. I'd give it an 8.5. Best NFS game since Carbon.
Haven't played this one, but I just picked up the original Most Wanted on 360 (I'm 34 years old, I know I'm behind the times!). What a great game. Story is mega cheesy, but actually a solid vehicle for gameplay progression. I've watched all the trailers and lots of vids for the current release, and I'll raise these questions: - No visual car customisation? Whaaaa?! - No bonnet cam? - No rear view mirror? For real, or did I miss that? - Only 10 on the most wanted list? I'll take the 15 driver blacklist thanks.
Yeah dude the Original Most Wanted is absolutely awesome, along with Underground 1 & 2 which had Powerslide making them maybe the best NFS in regards to gameplay & they definitely have the most customisation options. NFS Carbon is nice too & Pro street which was different but still NFS overall driving style & Undercover has wicked gameplay but after that......NFS Died! They should not have let Criterion make NFS its that simple coz now da driving will never be the same as it is in the Original Most wanted! Enjoy dude & have fun at the very end escaping the entire police force.......it aint easy! But very rewarding in a gratifying way : ) If you have'nt played some of the NFS that I just mentioned, I seriously recommend you trying them coz they're awesome & you'll love them considering you love da Original Most Wanted! & Underground 2 is backward compatibale & looks really nice on 360 console!
@svenjl There is a bonnet cam but you're right to feel the original is the better Most Wanted. That said, this one is very good in it's own ways and I've really enjoyed playing it. I do miss customization though. The original most wanted, any car could be upgraded to match any other.
What a shity game, I remember the old days when your Hud was and analog tachometer, a digital speedo, a map and your damage bars. Nowdays the screen is full with stupid numbers, 100points for killing an officer, 150pts for killing an adversary etc. NFS is gone to shit with these Criterion games. No onboard camera, no manual shifting, no car collection. Nothing new since Shift 1, 2010Hot pursuit, 2011Shift2, the run was same shit as hot pursuit and now this, damn.
These days NFS games are for 10 year-old kids.
@jamdc2000 I wasted 2 minutes of my life on reading your comment. I could've used them to play this great game.
P.S its for 10 year olds? you must be 5. Grow up.
Since most wante original no one that matches, it is unfortunately a lack of sensitivity of personal EA. Does not move in that team is winning, much less to have resulted so disheartening, hence not buy this! Even the old game and while EA did not create shame and a decent game, nothing more ever acquire the franchise.
The old most wanted is can still kick this games ass. The police chases are shit compared to older one. I am not sure what went wrong with the development team at NFS. Why cant they come up with a decent underground racing game ? I am not buying this one.
new games are most of the time comparatively much better than the old ones & this looks very good!!
I'm taking this off my list. I can't see how this will bring anything new at all for someone that has both Hot Pursuit and Burnout Paradise. Actually, this seems terribly dull and unimagniative.
So i went out and bought the game to see if i can cure some of the hunger that i have for a new car/racing game.. I reckon it is worth the purchase (even better if it is EB games with a 7 day return policy) and for any of my game buds in doubt, I think you will get some enjoyment, It steps all over NFS The Run.. It is no Burnout 2 but will saitsfy your hunger for a new car game of some sought..
@SIDEFX1 I tried, and I just can't find your feel, dude....... And I borrowed it, and if it is good, I would have actually spend money and get it for real, but....... that feeling was over after I completed the game....... its just doesn't seem right from the very beginning, i have friends who even more maniacally fall in love to it then you ever will, but I just can't feel it, so sad.......
@WillyChong At least you tried it bud. I guess the customization part really gets to people..despite the fact they get faster cars which we did not have back when the original was released.
If in doubt to purchase this game. Play it and see how you like it. It is not all doom for this game. Just not The Need For Speed that is wanted.
