It is a shock, everything is there but feels different. Not bad, and combat is great, but it is not a Civ game anymore

The game turned out to be a little better than I first thought. Graphics is really good, but forget about the graphics. The reason I respected Civ II was that it had a very ugly outlook yet the concept was amazing, and the developers where too confident and brave with it to leave that way, and it worked for them. Now you have a shiny friendly UI, awesome terrain, realistic waters, and very smooth interface. It is not that hard to understand game anymore :(
The game is not that easy, although it seems to be in the first look. Many annoying things of the previous Civ's such as huge armies, and micromanagement have been cleverly removed. AI is not the best though, city states are cool, but can get really annoying sometimes. Diplomacy is not the best either, and you can't tell why or how did other Civs get mad at you. In all the games I played, I received insults from other Civ's for no reason.
Religion was gone, and so espionage, to be honest I never liked both, it was annoying at some moments, but the game feels too simple without them. Civ V is nice to hold, easy to access, but it does not feel much of a Civ game. And ya, before I forget, it is overrated, don't believe what you read around, marketing can be really powerful.
