A good game - but your best bet is to tweak the AI...CPU is worse then ever in this version

User Rating: 7.5 | NCAA Football 11 X360
There are some good things in this version, don't get me wrong. Gameplay is improved, some of the camera angles are much better, and you can see the whole field now. But, like many years prior, the game completely fails when it comes to CPU.

Playing against another person is better then ever and more realistic then ever. Playing against the computer is both frustrating and baffling. You are going up against Drew Brees every week, regardless of QB rating. CPU completion percentage is outrageous. Blitzing is once again useless, the CPU picks it up every time and on the rare instances you do get QB pressure, he throws it too quickly and right on target, you will never see an off target pass from the QB. The only way around this is to tweak the AI if you want a challenge, but don't want it to be this cheap.

Also, the CPU defense once again has psychic powers. Are you lined up in an I-formation Tight with one WR and called a play action pass? The CPU will counter with 3, yes...3..... defensive lineman in a cover 3 zone. This is the most frustrating part about NCAA 11. You cannot play a game of strategy against the CPU, they always have your play picked. Running out of a shotgun formation never works because they stack the box each time.

Aside from terrible CPU that has been plaguing NCAA Football for many years now, it is a very good upgrade. Running game is much improved and it's always a blast to build up a school into a powerhouse. However, the playcalling screen was unnecessarily changed. It now takes even longer to select your play.

Overall, any die hard college football fanatic should get this game. But if you are not a die hard fan and are just looking for a game of football.....stick with last year's version.
