We all know that the Xbox is starting to die, but at least there's still a little bit of life in the good old system. With NCAA Football 07, there's no doubt that EA has been working pretty hard on its college football franchise over the past year. With a great sense of atmosphere and the nail-biting football moments, NCAA Football 07, is definately one of the better sports games that have come across for a while.

There's really no way to get around it, if you want a full football experience with your favourite college football teams, EA's NCAA 07 is the way to go. EA has put in just about every single NCAA football team, from Texas to Michigan, the Gators to the Buckeyes, even the smaller, less-popular teams are all included in this game.

When you start to explore the menus you'll start to realize just how uch freedom the game offers to you. You can make your own school, and have so much customization, right down to where your scoreboard will be in the stadium, and wether your school wants to be an 'academic' school, or more of a sport powerhouse colege. The 'Create a School' option is so neat and there is so much customization, you may decide to make a whole other league made up of your own schools, and you can play pretty much any other NCAA college out there.

Other than that, there is a Dynasty Mode, that could've used a tweak or two, or a little addition, but if you liked last years a whole lot, expect to see the same from this years version. In Mascot Game, you can play any school that has a mascot against any other school, and when you get into the game, all of the player models have been taken and put into mascots. So the mascots are actually playing the game...as the players. It seems kind of odd, but can be very amusing, especially to see your schools rival mascot get sacked.

Then comes Campus Mode where you take on the role of your own custom made player, and you get into school. You will have to select what major you want to study in, and the harder you take, the more you will have to study, which can take you away from some extra practice drills. This feature is really neat, and it slightly demonstrates a college football player's life...slightly.

In the general in-game gameplay, you may notice quite a different feel than in the Madden series. I stepped into this game thinking that I was going to own because I already knew Madden 07 inside out and backwards, but boy was I wrong. You'll have basically have to start re-learning how to play. The game feels so much different than Madden, and the controls are slightly different too. But the quick and addicting pace of NCAA may make you start to lose liking of the Madden controls. Whenever a big hit, or a long throw will occur, the camera will slow down, and get in close to the action, to get a more dramatic feel. It works pretty well, and doesn't seem to get too annoying. In the game, when on defense, if you tap the right trigger a few times, you will get a player to hype up the crowd, messing up your opponents at times, especially if your playing against friends. Their controllers will rumble like mad once the crowd starts going, which can really throw them off.

In the game, when on the line, you can get a player to jump the snap. By tapping the a button at the time of the snap, a defense man may get around the D-line, and have a chanse to get a rush at the QB. A really neat feature that's pretty difficult to master.

Don't expect too many songs that you know on the game, unless you follow marching band music. That's all that the game plays, but it isn't that bad, and definately not repetitive. The overall sound in the game is solid, and there's a wide variety of marching band music in the game.

The graphics are pretty good, it's pretty much average. There aren'y any crazy shadowing effects or anything, it's just another football game graphics wise.

One letdown, however is that none of the players have names. All you will usually see on anyone's jersey is 'QB #10' or 'HB 45'. It can kind of be an annoyance, but it wouldn't be that easy to look up so many teams' players.

There are quite a few historic teams, which can be pretty neat, just to see how your favourite team was like back in the 70's the 50's, even in some cases the 20's.

NCAA Football 07 is a great example of a really thought out football game. With excellent gameplay, commentating, average graphics, and a great feeling of suspense, NCAA Football 07 is a feature-packed game, and I highly recommend it to anyone with a need for football.
