I've played about 10 games an am surprised to say that it is the best version yet for the xbox. I've played every version to come out for the xbox and the improvements that they have made are worth it. I play at the All-American level and the game is significantly more challenging than previous versions. I also play with the momentum meter on, and it definitely adds to the challenge, but does make it seem more realistic. Games tend to be much closer against miss-matched teams.

Graphically, the game is basically the same, but they have added some new animations which make the hitting more "life-like". Pass deflections are also more realistic. The shift to a 3rd person view on kick off and punt returns adds a lot to the game.

Recruiting is more challenging. I've had a tougher time landing the top recruits, which means that it is tougher to build a powerhouse team from the dregs of a conference.

Passing is also better in that receptions occur at a much higher rate. In previous versions, I struggled to land over 50% of my passes, and now it is quite common with a decent QB.

the new kick meter took a few games to get used to, but it seems more natural than the previous versions.

Overall, there were some graphic tweeks here and there, but the gameplay is more balanced and challenging for the regular player.
