THis game rocks go MSU

NCAA Football 06 doesn't just start with the normal "EA Sports! It's in the game!" intro like seen in the past before kicking you straight to the over decorated menus with the latest soundtrack. It starts you out with a selection of postions and you choose to persue one. You choose Linebacker for instance and you are put into Oklahomas where you have 10 trys to stop the opposing runningback. This is all based in highschool with college scouts watching.

If you do surprisingly well, you will be accepted to colleges with great football programs. It doesn't matter who you get recruited to, because you just go to walk on and pick a college. After you are recruited, you go and choose you appearance for your new player.

Instead of the standard feature when you get 100 points and you distribute them to different areas, the games already knows how good your player is from when you did the highschool drill. This part adds an incredible depth to the Race for the Heismen mode.

After you create your player, you are sent to your dorm room where there are stats, polls, trophies, schedule, and a picture of your girlfriend. If you participate in drill with your player, he gets increasingly better. Doing this over and over and over does have an affect on your player. There is also a meter that is labeled "Heismen Hype" which goes up and down depending on performance.

I quickly played through all 4 years of college football and won the heismen junior and senior year breaking all sack and tackle records with it. The Race for the Heismen mode is very fun and surprisingly ADDICTIVE.

Now for graphics. The game isn't perfect but it is very well done. Every player is modeled differently. The stadiums are also VERY VERY exact to what they are in real life. I could even see Cheapskate hill at Cal which was pretty incredible.

The commentary is very clear and seamless but as always, get repetetive fast. The players yelling audibles also draws you further into the overall experiance of playing in the Orange Bowl with 70,000 screamimg fans.

It also has a great Xbox live feature that allows you to play with others.

The game is very fun and amazingly addictive for a football game. I would recommend it to anyone, even a non-sports fan. MSU rocks
