I'm reviewing this game on how good it is today. (December 21, 2005)

NBA Live 04 is one of the best games but it fails in some areas that you wouldn't expect. Let's start with the good. For starters, it has Play Now, Dynasty Mode, Season, Playoffs, Individual Practice, and many more modes and the Create-a-Player isn't half-bad either. The models look good and the Instant Replay is amazing. Any camera angle at any zoom... it just blows me away.

But not everythign is good. For one, the difficulty isn't specific enough. It can't decide to be hard or easy. Rookie is way too easy, Starter is still too easy, All Star is really hard, not even thinking about Superstar mode. But I got used to it and now I can usually beat the computer on Superstar with a 69 rating team. Another problem is that the AI gets really cheap when it's losing and you seem to miss every shot once you get a lead. It takes a lot of patience, but I think it's worth it.
