NBA Live here comes the revolution

Basket ball has always been my favorite sport so too has NBA Live been my favorite sports game. This year I felt that EA made a statement. That statment was lets revolutionize as much as we can. This was the first sports title that I know of to implement the use of the right anolog stick. What an efffect that was and still is. NBA live has been around for a long time something like 15 years almost as long as Madden. its just that EA didnt always call It live. Much like Fight night It went through some name changes. First was Lakers Vs the Celtics and the NBA playoffs which didnt have every team just the ones that made the playoffs. Then In 94 they changed the named to showdown the only one in the series with that name. The finally in 95 they named It live. What a year that was for it. Slow motion dunks tradable playes create a players and hidden ones like mj and majic. The whole point innovation and in 2003 its no different. Some people might not like in your face basket ball. Some might like their players stale and always in control. Some might even like their games to be paced and play like the WNBA with no dunking. Not me!!! I like to see Kobe dunk and then come down and flex his muscles. I like the fast breaks you earn from some good defense. I like it when Queintin Richardson and Darius Miles dunk they do their little horns on head thing. Lets face it as EA puts it if its in the game its in the game. On the other hand I dont like that you can score so easy hey where the challange if someones little sister can score 20 probably before you do. As with most Bball games the collision detection is bad. Fouls arent called correctly, and theres nothing beside the franchise to keep you busy. The graphics are subpar, but are much better than 2002's. They convey feeling but dont resemble real player good enough. The music in this game is outstanding. By using real hip hop artist they create a good sense of hype and excitment that is basketball. As you cruise through the menus you fell good about what your doing. The gameplay is down right great with the exception of the easy scoring this is a fun and fast paced game. The controls are similiar to 2002's and they even explain how to use the new freestyle stick. The freestlye stick lets you dribble to whatever way you point it and the lets you crossover, deke, fake, steal, get in a crouch, put your arms up and a lot of other tidbits that are quite useful. The computer doesnt play smart D nor smart O for that matter but playing aginst others is a blast. This game to me over all did the trick with a few minor let downs. While Live 03 is not the best B ball game out there its a darn good one. Take notice to what its brought to the table and be thankfull because future titles will greatly benefit.
