NBA Live 06 is not what the fans of the series expected.
This season's big addition is the one of the freestyle superstars. Some players turn out to be highflyers, strikers or stoppers, each one with his strong point. Nevertheless, some superstar abilities are in fact useless, and the addition is a bit uninspired and badly introduced to the players.
The dynasty mode is greatly improved in every way. There are also improvements when creating a player, in the practice mode, and the biggest pro of the game, is the precise movements of the players when approaching the basket. The game's realism is greatly improved.
But what is really dissapointing is the graphics and the general visual style the game has. When the players are moving into the court, they seem to be skating, which brings back memories from games released in the late 90's. And there has to be an improvement in the visuals of the game, as the game's performance will be noticeably slow in an average PC. Luckily, the sounds in and out of the court are very good, though I can't say the same for the voice talents.
NBA Live 06 is one of the best games of the series. But it is true that there has to be an immediate improvement to the general style NBA Live has made.
