Once again, the NBA 2k series reigns supreme! I looked at the graphics for NBA Live 2006 and was actually coaxed into purchasing it along-side with NBA 2k6. On September 27, 2006 I conducted by personal "head-to-head" competition of the 2 games. I looked at graphics, gameplay and sound. Graphically, NBA 2k6 is top dawg! Although, 'Live' has improved its animation scheme, it is not up to par with NBA 2k6. The players and animation in 'Live' still look a bit "cartoony". The animation for NBA 2k6 for the Xbox is the best you will get in a basketball game, unless you jump up to the next generation of gaming (i.e. PS3 or Xbox 360). The gameplay in 'Live' is improved from last year's edition, but once again NBA 2k6 is superior! You can no longer throw passes down court (they will be intercepted). The steal mechanics of 2k6 are also great...more accurate. The flow of the game is also very fluid. I can honestly say that 'Live' does have these qualities, but not of the same caliber as NBA 2k6. Sound...I give 2k6 the bump over 'Live' b/c of the shear realism of the arena atmosphere and the commentation. I felt like I was actually in MSG when using my beloved New York Knicks (Sidebar: The Knicks will make the playoffs this season...Go NY, Go NY, Go!!!) Overall, 'Live' did improve from last year (they finally realized that the "backcourt" camera angle is not for everyone). However, being better doesn't matter, when being the best is what counts! La Fleur La Fla Escosca!!!
