This is supposed to be the best basketball game ever made? Really? I dont know about that. This game seems too clunky.

First off let me state that I have been playing the 2k Basketball series for a while now. This game does not feel like that big of an improvement in my opinion. Here's why:

Graphics: Look great at times, but sometimes face and hair look really bad.

Presentation however, is better than ever. Commentary never seems to repeat and the lines seem unscripted. As you play franchise mode, they will talk about your teams previous performance, upcoming games and individual players performances as well. If you had a bad game with Andre Igoudala the commentary will bring it up reminding you of his shooting percentage or turnovers etc.

The game modes are pretty much standard. Career mode is practically the same as last years game. In my opinion it is too boring, your player is god awful and it is hard to progress their skills.

Gameplay: This is my biggest problem, passing sucks, AI is sometimes very stupid, players often go out of bounds or hit the side of the backboard when shooting and they don't get open or move around alot regardless of whether you call plays or not.
One other thing is that this game is so animation driven that it practically makes it unplayable for me. Animations drag out too long, sometimes the dumbest animation will trigger, or your player will decide to lay-up instead of shoot a jumper when you near the paint. This game just feels to stiff, clunky and sometimes unresponsive. Often players will not do what I want them to.
As for the AI its okay but can be cheap at times, they pretty much swat or steal any pass thrown in there area. This gets annoying because your players don't do it for you. Also when playing a team like the Heat, Wade and Lebron will pretty much get all of their points in dunks and often do too many alley-oops. As for when you want to cut to the lane or go in the paint the CPU will completely shut you down as if there is a wall blocking you.

Its a solid game, but adding Michael Jordan and the Jordan mode is great but it does not make this a must buy for me. The gameplay is starting to show age. Plain and simple. This game is so robotical and animation driven that the control never seems to feel right.
