Upgrade from last year's game and definitely a must-have for any basketball fan!

User Rating: 8.5 | NBA 2K10 (10th Anniversary Edition) PS3
This year's installment of NBA 2K is definitely worth the price-tag. Upgrades on the court are immediately evident. First of all, the defense has been tweaked, allowing for more realistic steals and more realistic in-the-paint scoring. The players move more fluently and the person with the quickest right thumb no longer dominates the court (unless you play with Kobe or Lebron). The game seems to be more realistic and enjoyable and instantly was a pleasure to play.

The menu option leaves something to be desired. It is often hard to navigate from menu to menu and the save option doesn't allow for all options to be carried from game to game. There really is no home screen, only a home menu, which is immediately frustrating, but becomes less noticeable at time progresses.

Now for the amazing thing about this game. The online options with daily player upgrades are amazing and allows for true basketball fans to play according to what the actual league is doing, in real time. The my player is more than great, allowing you to personally walk your created player through the process of becoming a NBA star (and it definitely is a process). This new and innovative game mode starts you off in the summer league as you battle for a NBA Training Camp invite. If you make it, welcome to the NBA, if not, welcome to the D-League. Either way, you're in for an amazing tutorial in on-man defense, passing lane defense, boxing out, smarter shooting, and court positioning
(if you ever play cooperatively.

The soundtrack is great for any hip-hop lover and offers a variety of main-stream artists offering their basketball inspired lyrics. All together, this is perhaps the best game of the installment. The gameplay is much more realistic and besides the menu screen, the game has been improved in virtually every manor.
