- Time Spent:
- 100 or More Hours
- The Bottom Line:
- "Highly addictive"
Unlike other multiplayer FPS, Natural Selection 2 is not a game so much about kill/death ratio, it more about getting more tech point and resources through precise organized strikes.
In other words, lots of communication, team-play, anticipation and calculated trade offs, will lead you to victory.
On the other side, a wrong team decision, an improperly timed attack, a failure to communicate, can be devastating, these factors makes this game really intense.
Sometimes rounds can last 30 to 60 minutes as the momentum switches from one team to another, increasing the stakes and intensity
The learning curve is huge, especially to master all the aliens life form. You need to spend a good deal of resources this can limit your time playing as top level life form as you may get killed quickly. The alien beginning life form, skulk (dog like creature), can be difficult at first to face a marine who spend a thousand hours playing ''call of duty'' as you need to engage close combat. A few bites is needed to eliminate a marine. This is when tactics is required, hiding in the dark on the ceiling remaining silent waiting for the perfect moment while your teammates baits the marine.
A perfectly execute trap, a successful strike on a key location, a come back from an imminent defeat or a perfectly mastered life form makes this game rewarding.
So if you can invest time in a game I highly suggest you to buy and play Natural Selection 2

Worth the price, this gem is a near-perfect relaunch of an old multiplayer classic.
