Great RTS/FPS mix, with some rough edges.

NS2 is the sequel to the succesful mod Natural Selection which by now is over 10 years old. Natural Selection 2 in a nutshell is a shooter in which marines, the Frontiersman and and alien species, the Kharaa fight each other in futuristic environments and need to destroy the opponents base. One player on each team takes control of a commander role, supporting their team, researching, and expanding throughout the map. The games 2 different factions are nicely balanced, shooting is fast paced, and the graphics and map design is amazing. There is a lot of unique gameplay elements and its easy to spend nights on this game. My only criticism is the poor performance, you need a good CPU to run this game well. If you like old school FPS action which is fast paced and rewards skill, but at the same time is highly team focused, this is the game for you. Buy it.
