I'm all for codemasters doing the next game. They are great with racing games, let's hope we'll be so lucky.

I think Eutechnyx/Activision were just trying to get a playable first year game out and they succeeded (kind of). They have never done a Nascar game and were probably not familiar with the fans of the sport. Next year when they put the next game out they will hopefully have had some time to reflect on the backlash that came with the release of this game and have at least the Nationwide Series, if not the CWTS as well in the game. People wonder why Madden is getting stale, for the same reason this game isn't very good...when there is only one game for a sport that game doesn't have to be good, only playable. EA did a wonderful job making sure it didn't get stale or boring while having the only Nascar game on the market by changing things up every year. They brought us the teamwork concept...and then took it away. At least Eutechnyx/Activision have given us the opportunity to create our cars and have custom decals, But they also have given us a game that is prone to freezing. I guess what I am saying is let's not judge this new Nascar series yet...let's give them a few years to figure out what is/isn't going to work and satisfy the fans and applaud them for at least having a game out this year for us to play and encourage them to do better on next years game (honestly, could they do any worse...I hope not).

Their attempt of having NASCAR in Gran Turismo 5 felt too arcade to me. For example like Indianapolis, when braking in the turns going down to 3rd gear, when in EA's NASCAR games, Papyrus's, and even the recent I don't see it going down to 3rd gear in the turns. Not only that but going up to 232 mph at Daytona, and possibly with restrictor plates in the engines? If anyone else I'd like to see take a shot at with NASCAR besides the ones that done NASCAR 2011, is Codemasters, and I think that they could give Euthechyx a run. Yet, it's hard saying if they do NASCAR 2012 that they'd be able to improve over the last.

Warhawk, I say Polyphony because I feel if they devoted the time needed to builda complete and dedicated Nascar game then it could be very good (ex. Tourist Trophy). The Nascar racing in GT5 should not be a barometer of what PD are capable of in my opinion. It is such a small, micro part of the content on GT5 that I don't think it would be fair to judge what they could do given a full development cycle towards a dedicated Nascar title. I saw what they were able to accomplish with motorcycle racing in Tourist Trophy on the PS2 and fully believe they could pull off an amazing Nascar title if given the chance. I am also a huge fan of Codies racing titles also, and would love for them to get a crack at a Nascar title as well.

^I know Codemasters could pull it off without much of a problem. I have played a couple of their games such as TOCA Race Driver 3 and GRID, both I enjoyed playing though I regret getting rid of TOCA Race Driver 3.

Yeah, NASCAR in GT5 was more of them just taking the license and trying their best with limited time to actually focus on it.
