NASCAR 06 for the original xbox is in my opinion the best NASCAR game, next to 07. The next gen nascar's have failed miserably. But now back to 06.
The career mode, fight to the top is the game's main posiive. You starts by gaining a contract to race in the Whelen Modified series, with Evernham Motorsports. You then race and gain fans, prestige points, and hero/villian points, based on your performance. You will eventually get contracts for Craftsman Truck series, National Bush series, and the prestigeous NASCAR Nextel cup series. You will also have enough money to buy teams in all 4 series'. You can also partake in Showdon's with Top Nascar drivers and charity events to gain fans, prestige points, fans and skill points to allow you to buy chase plates, which are plates that give you custom car designs, qualifying on certain tracks, secret tracks, cars, and even racers. Career mode is really fun and keeps you coming back for hours on end.
There is also a play now mode, season mode, chase for the cup, which earns you skill points based on the settings and your performance. I have not played online but I have heard it is not very good, as not many people play it anymore.
I will now talk about some cons of this game.
-The autosave can be really annoying, and when you take it off, you can accidentally overwrite your saved game with another.
-The enemy drivers can get mad at you for hitting you and having them spin out, which is ridiculous because it was their fault.

Well that's all folks, I would recommend this to any Nascar fan as it brings all 4 aspects of the NASCAR Program.
