I expected a better game for Naruto. The idea isn't bad but the game could have been alot better, especially the combat system. The game isn't that hard. The game has only one main character which is Naruto. There are also some sub-characters, that you can use just for a few seconds, but they are stronger than Naruto and damaged more the opponents than Naruto does. Another thing is that Naruto Uzumaki Chronicles, Naruto Uzumaki Ninden in japan, has is that is very straightforward. Naruto has a few moves and the sub-characters, which are only 6 or 7 characters. Their special moves come out when pressing the R1 or R2, and Ri+R2 to perform a sexy-jutsu. The more chakra you use, the power of the demon fox activate, not automatically though for a few seconds, maybe a minute. In this state Naruto is more powerful and clones come out with you pressing the R1 button. Your opponent won't hurt you when in the demon form 'cos he won't have the chance.

The bosses are good, well better than the common ninjas you'll fight along the way. Bosses are one on one battles and are exciting sometimes, well most of the times. The skill plate is a good idea to improve your abilities. Naruto can perform new jutsus, or more powerful like the power strike becomes more powerful. In the japanese version, the power strike is refered as Rasengan. Also the actual combat is easy and fun at first.

But the combat and missions get olod quickly. The combat gets very repetitive and boring and some missions like cart missions are stupid and a waste of time. Even the enivronments were you fight are normally the same. One stupid thing, it's a shame that most of the things that the japanese version had are removed from this version. Like Tsunade, the hokage is replaced by an empty chair. The story is mostly different. After you beat the there will be boss battles. 2 of them are missing, when fighting Itachi and Kisame. And the powerstrike should have been called Rasengan.

Naruto Uzumaki Chronicles isn't half bad but repetitive combat and annoying missions lower the game. If you're a Naruto fan i suggest to try it out. But if you're looking for a decent brawler or an action game, better find something else or rent this game first before you buy it. But if you don't mind repetitive combat and repetitive environment, Naruto Uzumaki Chronicles can be great fun.
