I never thought i'd find a Naruto game i didn't like but this is it

I'll be honest I love Naruto and this game was part of the reason why I got a PSP but to be brutally honest, it's not that good.

I've played many Naruto games, particular ones that stick out are Ninja destiny for the DS and Ubisofts awesome two games for the 360. I was expecting Ultimate ninja heroes to be of a similar style; however it is very different in several ways.

First off I will say this game has a good selection of Characters, something that Ninja destiny was seriously lacking. I was particularly pleased to see Kiba and Shino in the line up, two of my favourite character who never appeared on ninja destiny. The graphics are also much superior to ninja destiny. However I never really took to the ultimate ninja style of graphics.

The story mode is non-existent. You simply fight 5-7 alternating teams in a row which can end up with you fighting 21 characters, one after another which gets very tedious after a while. After defeating al the opponents you earn points which you can use to upgrade you characters (sounds good right) get this, your upgrades don't work on story mode, yes your fighters don't improve through the story mode. On the plus side the vs.CPU mode is much better than ninja destiny with the ai putting up a decent fight, which will see you lose from time to time.

Now onto the controls. There is only one attack button so you will end up mashing the same button again and again and again and again. Jutsu's are none interactive and very difficult to hit. What's more your combo's are pathetic doing miniscule amounts of damage. According to this game Naruto farting does more damage than Guy sensei's primary lotus. On easy mode this is a challenging game, on normal it's brutal and insane is appropriately labelled. This game is way too hard which leads to it being no where near as enjoyable as ninja destiny for the DS

No story, hardly any music, extreme difficulty, poor controls and generally unrealistic combo damage all drag this game down so far that even a hardened Naruto fan like me struggles to like it. Save your money
