Somehow Namco Bandai managed to improve on the already great game, but unfortuneatly, lacked in some areas.

User Rating: 8 | Naruto: Ultimate Ninja Heroes 2: The Phantom Fortress PSP
Naruto Ultimate Ninja Heroes Phantom Fortress (NUNHPH) is a all around solid game, with fighting. Single player can be fun at the beginning but as time goes on, you hope for a slight change, and find yourself just skipping half the levels just to unlock characters. That was probably the biggest letdown for me, the single player story line. It did seem like something from the anime/manga, but it was just too bizarre and cheezy to wrap my head around. I would give Mugenjo a 5 out of 10.
Thankfully, even after the huge letdown with the Mugenjo, still NUNHPH's arcade mode was great. Creating your own team was fun, especially after all the great changes made to characters compared to the first game. For example, naruto and jiraiya actually use rasengan. As well as naruto using more clones, shikamaru using shadow strangle, and sasuke actually using more fire style and chidori based attacks. This really just made up for the tedious single player story mode for me. I would give heroes mode 9 out of 10
Ninja road was one of the most annoying things in any PSP game. It was basically a chibi naruto walking across the screen like mario, and you have to click X every few seconds. Except unlike mario, all chibi naruto is doing is picking up movies, pictures and such. If they just added a skip walking button, i might have actually enjoyed it. 5 out of 10.
Sound quality was excellent, with characters using actual voiceovers from either the Japanese or English anime. Graphics really got the whole feel of the anime, with vibrant colours, interesting backdrops, and even just the little things like handsigns were done perfectly. 8 out of 10.
Although there were many letdowns in NUNHPH, they made up for it by the improvements in character design and such. Overall i would give NUNHPH a 8 out of 10.
