Wow really great Naruto game. For Naruto fans its a definte.
Ultimate Ninja 2 follows Naruto anime from the Leaf Destruction Arc to the Retrieval of Tsunade Arc. Theres also a what-if story part called Gedo Mark and Gedo Mark part 2. The story has improved alot. Instead of just watching character pics yelling at each other theres cutscenes with full character models and some minor animation. Between battles you walk around Konoha, Land of Waves and the Sand Village. You can upgrade your characters using exparience you gain in batteles. This really gives the story replay value and tons of fun. And don't think you have to play the story over and over again because you can just go on missions ranked A-D.
Creating custom characters is alot of fun in Ultimate Ninja 2. You can even give characters another characters move for instance you can decide to give Naruto Fire-Ball Jutsu or Leaf Hurricane. Also upgrading speed, strength, chakra etc. gives you a huge advantage on the battle field. You see the difference, say for instance you upgraded Sasuke's speed, his attacks will be quicker and running will be done alot faster.
The graphics havent changed.And that's a good thing because they were practically perfect in Ultimate Ninja. You still see that manga cel-shading on the characters making them look hand drawing. Each character looks exactly like their anime counter-part. Not only will you find a physical difference but, the attack style and abilites are completely difference. As an example Kakashi and Sasuke can both copy other characters moves with their Sharingan. Kisame and Zabuza both have huge swords making their attacks slower but, more power per hit. There's definetly a reason to pick one character over another when faced with a paticular mission or fight.
Overall for Naruto fans you probably already own this one and for ones who don't , STOP reading this reiew and go out and buy it . And those of you who are kinda on the fence about this game probably best to rent it first. I have to say funnest part of Ultimate Ninja 2 is customizing characters, it can get addicting after a while. I'm definetly buying Ultimate Ninja 3 when it comes out.
