Anybody who is a fan of the Naruto/Shippuden manga or anime will love this game.
The story mode itself is placed over a number of characters and plays the same as some of the other naruto games with some anime footages and then a window with text to read well the game speaks it out waiting for the battle to start. I would say that the story is rather short in this game but don't let that put you off there are a number of offline modes and online makes things even better.
Survival is another offline mode that can be found and as the name states you have to survive other fights. The way naruto does this is by making you fight back to back one fight at a time if you take damage it will not be there in the next fight you have to do. However depending on what rank you get on the fight before hand you can game a certain percent of health back giving you a slight better chance at the next fight.
Tournament mode had two kinds of mode for offline. A battle tournament of 4 to 8 players or npcs fighting against each other and you can pick who to fight this is your basic offline tournament mode as for the other type and the more fun of the two i think is challenge tournaments in this mode you fight a set group of ninja and as you make your way up a ladder type system the fights get harder to win. There are different ranks that can be unlocked for tournaments too making this mode fun to play.
Next up is Training mode and this really needs no explaining so I'll keep it short in other words you can train characters move sets here letting you train on combos and timings. It also might help some people get a bit more ready for online play depending on your fighting style and how you play the game.
From the menu there is also a shop where you can buy ninja tools, cards, new substitutions e.g. other logs or things such as the make out books show when you do a substitution jutsu. A picture collection and titles used for your ninja info card are also here. There is also a collection menu where you can see all the items you have won in the game or paid for with the cash you earn from battles and bought from the shop.
Online mode. As for this mode i haven't played that much of it but i would say the game has taken allot of time to make this mode and it is a improvement on ninja storms 2 online mode. The battles can be fun, fast and action packed some of them not even lasting that long depending on how the 2 players fight. Allot more skill can be found here than just fighting with the Ai in offline mode. There are modes here too mostly the same as the offline ones but with online players. such as tournaments.
