I'm having trouble?

I go to grabs bombs but b4 i get to the rock even if i throw it won't work there?

Additional details - Sep 3, 2009 8:38 pm PT

I'm at gorons cave cavern what ever it is and the bomb that's at the stairs is what im trying to blow up and it wont >the rocks up top<

Where exactly are you trying to throw the bomb? There's no way to tell where you are by what information you've given so far. It'd be hard to help you with what I have at the moment, can you at least tell me where you are at? What location? Death Mountain? Lost Woods? Etc...?

Oh--well from what I understand, your on some stars/or ledge and above you is another ledge that you can grab onto, but a rock is blocking your path to getting up there. And you're in Dodongo's cavern, at least I'd believe you are becasue you said cavern---meaning somewhere inside and you don't have bombs yet.

So the best advice I can give you for this situation is to find the closest bomb flower to your location and take it over to the edge. Now watch it and see when it explodes, I think ten seconds or so. Maybe five at the least. Time this so that way when you throw the bomb it will explode somewhere around the rock, hence the rock will explode and your path will open.

If that doesn't help, I'm sorry.

Eventually though, if you are at the part in the game, in this dungeon, you get a bomb bag, allowing you to carry bombs. I don't know if your that far in or not, I don't remember the layout perfectly, but if you have them, use them.

I think you are having problems with the big stairs at dodongo's cavern, so here it goes.

When you reach the room with the big stairs, take a flower bomb and put in the middle of the rows of flower bombs, and you should be able to proceed

Do you mean the bomb flower on the ledge with a chest that you have to throw out across to a blow up a rock-door?

If I am correct in my above statement, wait until the bomb starts flashing red, or after about 6-8 or so seconds, and run forward and throw the bomb. It should explode right as it ricochets off the rock.
