Indy Goes Retail-only
Indiana Jones and the Infernal Machine will be available as a retail exclusive at Blockbuster stores.
LucasArts has announced that its upcoming Nintendo 64 game Indiana Jones and the Infernal Machine will initially be available, exclusively for rent, at Blockbuster locations nationwide. The game can be rented under Blockbuster's "guaranteed to be there" program and will be available for sale on its e-commerce Web site at Blockbuster.com and on LucasArts' Web site at store.lucasarts.com.
"This distribution arrangement represents a unique retail opportunity for LucasArts and Blockbuster, and it will greatly benefit Indiana Jones and the Infernal Machine," said Mary Bihr, vice president of worldwide sales and marketing for LucasArts.
The Nintendo 64 release of Indiana Jones and the Infernal Machine features several enhancements that its PC counterpart lacks, including enhanced game controls, environmental audio, and dynamic lighting. In this action-adventure game, players must guide Indiana Jones through 16-plus levels to find the Infernal Machine before the Soviets do.
