Koei has done it again.

Mystic Heroes is like Dynasty Warriors in a fantasy setting. Of course, not everything matches up to Dynasty Warriors. There's a lack of selectable characters. And the armies are disapointingly not near as big as those seen in Dynasty Warriors. But I do have to say. It's a fun game. There's magic. And Koei cooked up a great story. The gameplay remains largely the same. They just took out officers and shrunk down the armies. Even so. It's better than Samurai Warriors. And the multiplayer is engaging with up to four players able to play at once. But the lack of selectable characters and disappointingly tiny armies really hurt it.

Concept 7.5: Dynasty Warriors in a fantasy setting.

Graphics 8.5: It's a visual treat.

Sound 8: It's fine most of the time but some of it seems out of place.

Playability 8.5: There are enemies in a lot of places, but not as many as you would hope.

Entertainment 8.5: Once the single-player campaigns done multiplayer will leave you coming back for more.

Replay Value 8: Moderate.
