Feeding, cleaning, buying, selling...it's only interesting for so long.

User Rating: 3 | My Farm Around the World DS
I bought two copies of this game, one for myself and one for my daughter. Neither of us play it.

While the actual concept of the game itself sounded great, once I got into it I realised that the game has some MASSIVE limitations.

Only 4-5 types of animals are available. They grow from babies to adults, but it can be difficult to notice any difference if you aren't looking at the growth number (1-3). You have to repeatedly clean and feed these animals; sometimes they get sick. They is no other interaction. You cannot pet them or make them happy. Every few minutes you'll need to clean up the animal poo around the farm...this isn't as interesting as it sounds. They've actually managed to make a mundane task even more boring. Without a mini-game in sight, this game is boring in the extreme.

When buying buildings for your farm, you might think you will be able to design your farm the way you want...that's what I thought. But no, the buildings have predetermined places and they are placed there when you buy them. There is no customisation. You can 'unlock' colours for the animals, but even these are not enough to keep your interest in the game.

The main goal of the game, as far as I can see, is to get your 'farm' up and running to a level that allows you to unlock the second, third and fourth farms etc. Each farm is a 'farm' from a different area of the world. Each one with repetitive and unoriginal game-play.

This is a definite contender for worst game of the year, if not possibly one of the worst ever made. I'm feeling generous today, so I gave it a 3.
