Mutant League Hockey, personally my favorite hockey game EVER! I can’t remember weather this game was based off the show or the show was based off the game but that really has nothing to do with how cool this game actually is….. You pick a team for tournament, playoffs or VS. Every team has different stats and every team consists of mutants (some are robots but we can let that slide) and there are several options to pick from (I suggest turning off penalties) and a few different rinks….. Now unlike other hockey games there is more then one way to win, the first is to win the old fashioned way (but really that would get old right?) so we go to the second way (my favorite way) killing the entire other team *laughs manically* Basics of the game are just like any other hockey game just a little tweaked… Goals, hat tricks, rules, whatever onto the killing physics… You can pick up weapons from the ice and use them on the other team The weapons include chainsaws, sledgehammers, axes and maces each with different damage rates on different players, can’t find a weapon? No problem! Punching works equally well and if all else fails push an enemy into a hole or mine or Molotov cocktail that the crowd threw in. There is also the occasional monster goalie which is hard to get a goal on….. I should also mention that there are plays to choose from but that’s only if you plan to play an actual game of hockey….. unless you pick the “kill the goalie” play….. there is also a large portion of comedy in here for the masses. The final thing to mention is this is one of the VERY few games to use the genesis 4 player adapter…. So here will be my overall review Graphics are a nifty blend of color and sprites I’ll give em’ a 10, good graphics were hard to find on the Genesis Sound, well although slightly muddled was pretty ding dang good I’ll toss em’ a 9er Gameplay too cool for words…. I think I’ll say 10 Replay value, well that’s were we hit GOLD with one of the most unknown accessories on Genesis being utilized this game becomes 4 PLAYER and with 4 players combined this game is captain coolness!
