Fun, cute and challenging.

Mushroom Wars is a very cute strategy game. Its simple controls and many levels make it a good buy. If set on hard, the game can be pretty brutal, so even master strategists will have a good time. The game introduces you to new mechanics each level, so it never gets too complicated, and there is plenty of room to learn and experiment.

You have only one type of unit at your disposal, you also cannot build structures anywhere you would like but are only limited to use those already placed at the start of the level. Those under your control can be converted into towers that shoot nearby enemies, forges that boost your abilities in battle or houses that produce additional units.

A few varieties of modes are also present, apart from taking all structures under your control some modes are won by controlčing a certain structure or gathering enough points by controlling that award points. Morale plays a big role, you gain morale by performing well in battle (taking over enemy structures and successfully defending your own) but you lose more if you perform poorly. The more morale you have the stronger and faster you units will be.

The best thing in Mushroom Wars (apart from presentation) are the controls, you can decide how many units to send into battle with predetermined hotkeys like all available units, half of those in a single structure or 1/4 and 3/4. This is a great way to confuse your opponents and form out strategies.

With an additional DLC pack you can now play 4 player matches offline and online with leaderboards and ranks. Its very interesting how other people play because they cannot be outsmarted like the AI in the skirmish and campaing mode
