Mr Bean is a basic platformer which barely has any substance.

Who thought of transforming Mr Bean into a DS game? He does not seem to have much game potential at all. Mr Bean is a platform game without many platforms. You mainly jump over garden rakes, bees, explosive crates, old grannies, fat men, cats, rats, frogs: and collect keys, jigsaw pieces, cat biscuits and teddy bears. The plot (which isn't explained at all) is to rescue Teddy who, for some reason, is captured inside a cage, placed in a factory which is located in a sewer. There are only 3 areas; Garden, Sewer, Factory and each contain 3 levels each which take about 10-15 minutes of your time. The graphics are reasonable and the characters are 3D models that move in 2D. The game is not skilful or fun and is extremely short. To add variety to the basic platforming action, there are some 'puzzles'. Every time you see a treasure chest, there is a key for it a few yards away. When there is a locked door, there is a block next to it with a clearly marked area for you to push the block onto. The mini-games only consist of a whack-a-mole game, where moles poke their heads through the ground and you poke them with the stylus, and there are a few simple jigsaws to be done. It's simple enough and child-friendly, but I would not imagine even the young ones would be too impressed with this.
