Pacific Rift does what it's predecessor did best and more! Stunning visuals, great multiplayer online and off.

When I got this game I was very excited, after all the original Motorstorm was a personal favourite of mine. As soon as I started playing I was not disappointed, the first thing that hit's you is the visual aspect of the game, the tracks, the vehicles, the scenery all extremely well designed, hard to fault at all. In addition this game has a new type of vehicle called the monster truck, this is brilliant fun, as it is with all types, be it bike or buggy. The main part of the game is the motorstorm event, which is split up into tickets of various difficulties, tracks and vehicles. This is very challenging, but not impossible and I spent at least 20 hours on it getting gold on all. The gameplay is smooth and responds well to controller inputs, all vehicles handle differently and are better on some tracks and not others, this makes for a good way to make use of all vehicles available.
A real bonus to this game has to be the offline multiplayer (which was not present on the original), this adds more hours of fun to be had playing with friends.
So to the online features, and as before this is simple and fast to use, and I think an improvement, because there is no waiting around for people to join in, you are allocated to a race almost instantly. There are five ranks to achieve, this takes time and a lot of effort but it's very fun as well.
In total I spent over 30 hours on Motorstorm Pacific Rift, and was able to attain a platinum trophy, very satisfied with the game, and I recommend it to anyone, it won't disappoint!
