Driver get you Motor Storms ready

User Rating: 10 | MotorStorm: Pacific Rift PS3
Current video games rarely ever seem to satisfy players any more. Each one coming close, but always changing enough aspects or leaving a few too many out to make the game a painful inch away from decent.

Thankfully we have game that come along like Motor Storm: Pacific Rift that fill me with hope that there are still some intuitive game designers that still use common sense. The secret to MT's success is the KISS method, keep it simple stupid. It doesn't have any fancy devices or upgrades or a speedometer for that matter. No it is just pure demolition at it's best, with nothing but you, your opponents, and the beautifully vivid landscapes. Where the only thing that matters is not how you cross the finish line just as long as you are first and there is enough to scape together to accept your trophy.

Being that this is a sequel it kind of goes without saying that if you liked the first one then you are going to enjoy this one for one reason or another. And for those of you that didn't play the first one, what were you thinking?!

Pacific Rift includes 16 new tracks on so some secluded tropical island, which is home to many breath taking vistas, low lying wetlands, abandon scrape yards and factories, and of course volcanoes. We also get our hands on a new vehicle, the monster truck, which I can tell by demon grin on your face that you can see the possibilities. A new feature, ramming, is also included. Ramming eats up your boost meter, but allows you to slam into opponent on either side, inviting your opponents to take the short cut, strait down the side of the cliff. Another new aspect is the ability to cool down your boost meter by driving through pools of water or sprinkler systems. But be careful because your boost meter will also rise faster if your too close to anything really hot, i.e. lava. Finally the biggest change was the expansion of the multi player mode to four players, I would like to reiterate that, the expansion of the multi-player mode to four players.

Over all Motor Storm: Pacific Rift is game that makes few promises, but comes through on every single one.
