Motorstorm Arctic Edge is just good plain fun.

User Rating: 8.5 | MotorStorm Arctic Edge PSP
Motorstorm Arctic Edge has gone where few racers have gone before, and with surprisingly good results. The entire game takes place in an unknown location, but it has a lot of three things; Ice, Snow an Mud. One of the first things you will notice about this racer is the impressive graphics, they won't blow you away, but for a portable game, this looks pretty darn good.
The game also features some awesome course design, all of the tracks feature a lot of the same elements, like mud and snowy patches, but all of them are different and always keep you wondering what the next track will have in store next. That being said, there are an impressive number of tracks to chose from, going through the Festival mode, it seems like every single track is different, though there are some repeats here and there.
Another thing that impressed me is the vehicles. There are a lot of them to choose from, most of them pretty standard; dune buggies, dirt bikes, ATVs, and so on. But the game also features some not so standard vehicles like snow plows and snow mobiles, this being a game based in the arctic of course. Every vehicle handles differently, ATVs will feel very different from dirt bikes, and snow plows very different from monster trucks. All of which have their own pros and cons.
Speaking of cons, the game isn't perfect, one of the biggest flaws I saw with the game is that the physics are over sensitive, I found myself flying in very improbable places fairly often. Not only that but the crash effects are like watching a Hot Wheel collide with a wall in slow motion. It's kinda lame and not worth having to press X to skip the cut scene of the crash.
With that being said, the game is still very impressive. The only other flaw worth mentioning about this game is that the soundtrack is just a mix of terrible alternative rock and lame dubstep. But the entire package works together so well, it's almost as good as some of the other racers on the PSP like Burnout Legends, but not quite. If you've got a couple bucks, it's definitely worth your time and money.

Pros.
+ Great Graphics
+ Fantastic Course Design
+ Great Vehicle Selection

Cons.
- Bad Soundtrack
- Overly sensitive physics
- Lame Crash Cut Scenes
