Mortal Kombat is quite good on the Genesis/Mega-Drive.It's pretty close to the Arcade version.I didn't like the SNES version at all for the first game.Why?No Blood and fatalities! >:(.But the Genesis on the other hand has the blood and that makes me happy! :).Now in Mortal Kombat you have a choice of 7 characters Liu Kang,Sonya Blade,Scorpian,Sub-Zero,Kano,Johnny Cage and Raiden.The characters look very realalistic unlike in Street Fighter where the characters have an Anime look.Mortal Kombat whet for something a little more Dirtier.When you hit someone in the Arcade or Genesis/Mega-Drive version blood can splatter out of that person.While in the SNES version there is Sweat instead of Blood.There are some cool fatalities.You can Rip Someone's Head off,Set them on fire or throw them into a pit of Spikes.The graphics are a little primative though but remeber this is on the Sega Genesis/Mega-Drive.There is a bonus stage too.Where you have to chop a block off.It's challenging but fun.Overall Mortal Kombat is an nice port of the arcade version.It was a reason why most people got the Sega Genesis/Mega-Drive version and why most Arcade ports are good when they stick to their formula.The only side is that Goro is cheap as hell,Graphics are crap and for Full Enjoyment get the 6 button Genesis version.But pick it up anyway.
