Finish Him...Fatality! Mortal Kombat was a very huge hit in the arcades, and was the first true competitor of Street Fighter II. It was so popular, that Midway made Mortal Kombat for home consoles. They did this fairly well, but there is some problems to it. The violence is greatly taken away. There is no blood game, just some "sweat", which I believe looks like sand. At least there's a GameGenie code to turn the "sweat" a redish color, but this still dosen't look much like blood, and not everyone owns a GameGenie. And the fatalities are now barely passing mediocre now, as well. Sub-Zero fatality is now simply freezing the opponent, and punching the frozen opponent and they turn into pieces of ice, no blood or gore. Johny Cage's fatality is now kicking through the opponent, which it dosen't even look like that, they groan and shake their arms for a few seconds, they fall down on the ground, and it says "Fatality". And basically everyone elses fatality is nowhere as good as the arcade version's fatalities. And they changed the world "assinated", into "killed" in Sub-Zero's ending, but that's not much of a problem. And also, this game's a bit too easy, especially when you use Scorpion. You can simply throw his spear, and uppercut the continously the whole time, and often win with a double-flawless victory, and almost always a flawless victory. Even with Goro,Shang Thsung, and secret opponent Reptile, can beaten this way with little difference as well. And even with all the characters, it's just a bit less easy, and with any character, you should be able to beat all the opponents with ease as well. And if you ever do loose, you have more than enought chances to press start to continue. There's also versus mode, which is somewhat funner than first-player mode, but it's still only fair. The graphics and sounds do the job, but not in any impressive way like the arcade version. Overall, this game is only for hardcore Mortal Kombat fans, without another port of this game already.

A Mortal Kombat game without blood isn't Mortal Kombat at all.
