Mortal Kombat: Deception is probably the fisrt 3D iteration of the series to do what I loved about the 2D titles. This means: multiple FATALITIES per karacter, DEATH TRAPS, over the top back stories, etc... The fighting engine is just like that of "Deadly Alliance" three styles per karacter-two hand based, one weapon based. This time, however, every karacter has not one, but two Fatalities-plus a HARA KIRI (if you lose, you can off yourself in a cool way-each specific to the karacter). Plus most of the stages are multi tiered. MK:Dec. also includes a puzzle mode called "PUZZLE KOMBAT", a chess mode with a weird MK twist called "CHESS KOMBAT" and a story mode called "KONQUEST". Konquest is basically a glorified training mode where you assume the role of "Shujinko" an aspiring MK contender who gets wrapped up in the entanglements of the legendary contestants. Like many fighting games, playing the story mode helps to unlock new characters and arenas-so it's worth playing through. If you don't own any other fighting game, get this one. If you do own other fighting games, ADD "MK: DECEPTION" TO YOUR LIBRARY!
