Deadly Alliance is one of the best fighting games I've seen to date.

User Rating: 9.3 | Mortal Kombat: Deadly Alliance PS2
Mortal Kombat brings the most beloved fighting series to the PS2, and packs more than just your standard fighter. The graphics are crisp and very nicely done. Scorpion, Shang Sung, Sub Zero, and all other characters look incredible, and have an outstanding amount of detail. The fighting envirnment's look great as well. Weather conditions and effects can be seen in each stage. Some levels even have some envirnmental hazards that can work for your, or the opponent's advantage.

The story begins where Mortal Kombat 4 left off. Quan Chi has escaped from the nether realm and is planning to awakin the undefeatable army of the Dragon King. To do this, he allies himself with Shang Sung, and both begin to revive the army. Your quest is to stop them from doing this. Each ending is determined by which character you play as.

Gameplay is fluid and responsive. Each character has a different fighting style to play around with, and different combos for each. The game introduces a weapon for each character, which benefit for each character depending on what it is and combos available. The controls are easy to master and are responsive.

Sound is completely new, or revamped from previous Mortal Kombat games. Each effect, voice, and in game track sound great.
Throughout the game, you'll earn coins, which can be used to unlock things in the krypt. This is neccessary to unlock new characters, but to do this, you'll have to go through TONS of coffins, most of which just have concept art, or some other crap that you don't have a use for.

Multiplayer is great, although Online play isn't supported.

There is also a lot of backround info and extras in the game. For this, there is a section called Kontent.

Mortal Kombat Deadly Alliance is one of the best fighting games I've seen to date, and will most likely be one of yours as well. Even though there isn't any online play, there'll still be plenty to do when the original experience is over. This is a great addition for any fan of the MK series, or just a person that likes fighting games, and with a price tag of now $20, you've got nothing to lose.
