Mortal Kombat used to be the top notch fighting game around back in the 90's but it started to all go down hill when MK 4 hit. Everyone thought the series was done for but when Mortal Kombat Deadly Alliance came out the series was reborn. Mortal Kombat Armageddon takes what made Deception and Deadly Alliance good and improves on it. The return of air combat is a great step forward for the series and allows for some pretty cool combos. Kreate a Fatality is unique and awesome and Kreate a Character is really in depth with alot of things you can do when creating him/her. Konquest mode is finally enjoyable to play as its more of an action adventure mode now. No more just talking to people or running around doing nothing. You can now fight enemies in Konquest mode. There are so many fighters to choose from as well. There are about 60 fighters to choose from each with their own special moves and combos. Alot of old favorites return like Scorpion, Sub Zero, Smoke, Reptile, Noob, Sonya, Johnny Cage, Raiden, etc. But some players from Deadly Alliance and Deception also make the return. The final boss Blaze is very difficult too. You have to implement alot of strategy as some moves like scorpions spear or subzero's freeze don't work on him. Motor Kombat seemed like alot of fun as well. It's very similar to Mario Kart and fans of Mario Kart will like Motor Kombat. The exclusion of chess kombat made the game seem a little empty. Chess Kombat was really fun in Deception and for it to be excluded in armageddon made the game feel incomplete. Overall though the core 1 on 1 fighting is awesome. Even with the fighting styles cut down to 2 instead of 3, the characters can still execute some nasty combos. Fans of Deception and Deadly Alliance will have no problem picking up on the game as it won't be hard for veterans of the franchise. New comers might want to hit up the practice mode and work with one of the characters as it will be new to them. Mortal Kombat Armageddon has alot going for it. The game is a solid fighter and still has the great online component that made deception enjoyable for a long time. The mini game Motor Kombat is a nice addition and will attract many people who want to take a break from the 1 on 1 fighting. If this is the last Mortal Kombat then it went out with a bang if not then its another great addition to an already successful franchise.

The worst since MK4... another RPG wannabe.

Great idea of overloading the character roster, but no so much with the fatalities.

The worst fighting game invented by a long shot with bad fighting, lame extras and the world's dumbest fatality widget.
