Almost exactly the same as MK1.

There have been 4 Mortal Kombat games now, and there has been almost no difference between them. Sure by now, they've added a couple of new play modes like endurance and team battles, but this is just the same old gameplay used over and over. As always you choose you play mode, and your charectar. And, once again you choose your destiny, meaning the number of opponents you fight. As you win the battles, you go to the next opponent. A cool new addition is the wepons. While you're playing, you can put in a code (which is given to you in the manual) and suddenly you're holding a weapon. While it's fun to beat your opponents with a club, that fun can be short lived. When you're holding your weapon and you get hit, you will drop it. That means that you opponents will be able to pick it up and use your weapon against you! There are also some levels with big rocks on the ground that can be used as alternate weapons. There have been a few other additions like Endurance mode where you fight as many opponents you can with limited health. You can also choose Team Battle where you choose a certain amount of charectars to play as and against. The last team with players left wins, and there's Tournament mode where you fight against the computer of other people to find one winner. A cool thing about this mode is that you can watch the computer fight its self. This is the first MK game to have completely digital graphics, and the result is kind of disapointing. Sure the graphics are clear enough, but every thing is very chopy. If you use a special move, the animation is good and smooth, but if you're just fighting normaly, the punches and kicks are pretty chopy. The Sound isn't that memorable. As I'm writing this, I can't remember any of the background music. The sound effects however is alot better. When you uppercut Tanya for example, you can clearly hear her sar OMG (only unabbreviated.) Mortal Kombat really seamed to be running of of steam when I wrote this. Even with 3D graphics and weapons, the game just seamed too repetitive. After I bought the game, I played it for a few days, then I sold it. It was just too old
