Mortal Kombat has had its share of up and downs for the past few years, but Mortal Kombat 9 is everything a good mortal kombat should be!
The classic characters long time Mortal Kombat fans will remember are back, Quan Chi, Shang Tsung, Baraka, Cyrax, Sektor, Kano, Kabal, Jade, Kitana, Mileena, Sindel, Scorpion, Reptile, Sub-Zero, Noob Saibot, Smoke, Ermac, Cyber Sub-Zero, Stryker, Jax, Johnny Cage, Kung Lao, Liu Kang, Raiden, Sonya, Nightwolf, and Sonya. The classic Mortal Kombat arcade ladder is back, A new "challenge tower" mode which features specific goals for all 300 levels, which is simply fantastic. A reasonably-good story mode is out, and it starts out with Raiden about to be killed by Shao Kahn as he sends a message back to himself from the past, and then the events of the MK series are undone, and re-imagined in an alternate universe. The graphics are great, the fatalities have never been so great! However Mortal Kombat does still face its share of problems, like a nearly impossible to beat final fight, Shao Kahn is a cheap boss who makes most resort to noob tactics, some glitches, the servers aren't that great, and of course some "nooby" characters, but that doesn't stop MK9 from being a good game!
Overall Mortal Kombat 9 is back, and exactly what a great Mortal Kombat game should be.
