okay so this is the first MK game I've officially owned, and it's fun; when the battles are fair, anyway. It's nice and gruesome, and the moves and characters vary and are balanced. But story mode is really only fun until you start controlling liu kang. After that you have to start fighting ridiculously overpowered characters, the AI gets cheap, and you start fighting 2 or 3 characters at a time. It's really not fun at all. It's not like soul calibur where they weaken the characters the more you have to face and the tag team AI is absolutely unforgiving. It's worse than a human player when it comes to abusing cheap moves to win on low health. The fight against scorpion and quan chi made me want to put the game on craigslist and I haven't even owned it 12 hours. But basically, when the game wants to win, it wins and there's nothing you can do about it.

This game is awesome with a few minor problems mostly revolving around CPU and difficulty.

There's a lot of meat in Mortal Kombat, in many senses. Too bad half of it looks and feels foul for my tastes.
