A monumental game that I will NEVER forget playing!
GAMEPLAY ~
The game had no real faults if you just looked at it as it was. It was like Pokemon, except your monster wasn't confined to a ball, it was free to roam the country side. If you didn't raise him well, he will run away. If you spoil him than he will have a short life. but most of the time ya treat him well and he went on to fight in the arena and become an S class monster!
You use CD's from your own personal collection to retrieve monsters and there are over 200 monsters to find and train! The controls were easy cause it felt like you were hardly using it! You purchased food for your monster to assist with fatigue and you even went excavating for those super-hard-to-find monsters (Robot, Dragon, ect.) and everything depends on your monsters level! So go for the S cup! ALWAYS remember to save!
STORY ~
You raise monsters... and battle them to reach the S cup. That is it!
Holly is the woman in charge and tells you what’s what with your monsters, listen to her, and you will go far!
GRAPHICS ~
Very high for the PS. Your monster had emotions and the anime-other characters are just as nice as the 3D monsters you raise. The battle system looks beautiful with magic and physical attacks as dominate as your monsters color. This was outstanding for the PS and to date the graphics stand the test, because they weren't too advanced, nor were they too uninvolved. Perfect blend!
SOUND ~
The music is good and isn't too overbearing. The training music is funny and the music on the excavation is daring and makes you want to keep going. The SFX during battle and training are as well done well and each monster has an original sound to them.
REPLAYABILITY ~
Very High! You will spend HOURS on this game! You may even get a second copy cause your first one burnt out! (like mine!) Excavating, collecting EVERY monster and the ability to properly raise a monster is something you only learn in time! Patience my children, your Naga will be a hero some day... some day... (use GameShark on your 3rd time around to get the ULTRA rare monsters)
OVERALL ~
A perfect game to waste a winter to! Everything about this title is top-notch and so creative and so much to do you will not leave the house for months! I know, I have my hermit passport right here!
