Excellent concept put to work!

I like dinosaurs so the dinosaur-like monsters in Monster Hunter may have somewhat swayed my taste for the game. It's a fantastic concept. You hunt monsters, then you can acquire their remains in the form of "hide", "bone", and so on. With the right amount of the right parts you can have a weapon or armor made. You also gain money that is used to make and upgrade weapons. It's a fantastic experience for a video game. The camera is perhaps the worst feature. If they had made it so that you can hold L1 and move the camera around, it might have worked better. Pushing L1 only centers the view and to manually move the camera you use the D-pad. This way, I think I might actually hold both analog sticks and somehow, in an unusual way, press the D-pad. Still, I managed to put a lot of hours into the game.

The other flaw, may be the difficulty of the single player experience. You might want to look up some tips online for this part. If you don't have the multiplayer (internet) connection, this game might not drive you to play it much. Don't expect much of a story.

Even with these things, this is one of my favorite three games for the PS2 and one of my favorite games ever. If it looks interesting enough, try it. By the way, the character armor models look cool.
