Portable monster slaying

User Rating: 9.8 | Monster Hunter Freedom PSP
The portable monster hunter is such an improvement well worth the wait here is how it ranks up.

Story 9/10

Start as a new guy with no armor and bad weapons end as a legend sounds simple well its not. Fighting wyverns gathering materials is a dangerous and difficult task especially how you need to improve armor and weapons to progress which you will need to get of your prey.

Graphics 10/10

The graphics for monster hunter are probably the best on psp and there is nearly no difference between it and the ps2 monster hunter. The texture detail has been lowered a bit but doesn’t affect your experience also the frame rate runs perfectly you won’t find a problem in the graphics department of the game.

Sound 8/10

The sound of monster hunter is good but not perfect the sounds aren’t as good as they could be but the sound does have a nice feature it can be played in Dolby digital 2.0 for a pretty good sound experience.

Game play 10/10

The game play on monster hunter really can’t be improved when I first heard of monster hunter portable I had doubts that the game would be button sufficient and have really lousy game play. But I was wrong completely by ditching the second analogue stick the experience of killing wyverns has never been better.

The excitement of killing monsters and getting your carves for better weapons makes monster hunter probably the best rpg you could find except this game has no infrastructure play which is a major down fall but this doesn’t really effect how the game play seen as there is still ad-hoc support.

Overall 10/10
Pros
Offers a lot of replay value.
Graphics are excellent.
Game play can’t get much better
Offers a lot of multiplayer ad-hoc missions as
Well as solo missions

Cons
no infrastructure
Bad load times
Sound is ok but not great

Conclusion
This is a fine addition to the monster hunter series is a fine rpg defiantly recommended if you like rpg with a twist
